Full depth precast concrete deck panel systems are gaining popularity and their application has been increasing with the use of Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC). The FHWA classifies these systems as Prefabricated Bridge Elements & Systems (PBES). The focus of the presentation will be an overview of the advantages and challenges to designing and constructing full depth precast concrete deck panel systems.
